I Was One of Those Kids...
I *happily* went school supply shopping over the weekend in Iowa. Usually tax-free weekend on clothes means that there's a sale on school supplies, and there was, as I got some 1-inch binders for 55 cents!
I still get excited to go school supply shopping to this day. Whether I've been a teacher or a student, I look forward to shopping.
And, secretly, while the rest of you were like, "I hate school, why does it have to start again?" I was like, "YAY! School can't come fast enough! I can't wait for it to start again!" when I was in elementary, junior and senior high school. In undergrad, I couldn't wish the school year would start fast enough. Now that I'm in graduate school, I do a lot of the learning on my own in the summer, but it's not the same.
I'm so ready for school to start right now. If the university said, "We're starting tomorrow," I'd be happier than a dog up a bone tree.
I'm taking the following classes this fall:
Shakespeare: The Comedies
Medieval Women (Brit. Lit. course)
Gender Studies (Am. Lit. course)
MA English, Research Methods (for my thesis)
