Things You Don't Want to Know,
But, it's My Blog and I Can Do What I Want...

Every time I PMS I get three very strange cravings.
  1. Meat--as in beef and pork
  2. Chocolate
  3. Cheese

Now, I'm not saying that I would want to put any of those three items together, but separately, I can eat them constantly for the 2-3 days I am PMSing. Of course, this feast might also be to keep the intense pain from my back and boobs off my mind.

I think everyone knows that I'm not exactly a huge meat eater. I like chicken and the occasional fish, but I can live on beans, peanut butter, fruits and veggies just as well. Most of the time, beef and pork products are the farthest craving from my pallette, so I know certain people use it to their advantage when I'm hungry for meat. I get taken out to steak houses and hole-in-the wall diners that serve up the meated midwestern cuisine by family and friends. Or, we all enjoy a cookout. I will even eat hotdogs (gasp!) during this time...which I did on Saturday at my parent's house at my birthday party. The really sad thing, I ate two of those "lips-and-assholes" delicacies, because one didn't take away my pangs. Needless to say, it will probably be July or August before I can stomach another.

As for the chocolate...I think it's just a woman thing. Like right now, I'm eating pretzles and melted a little chocolate or them. Chocolate can take a fucking shitty day and turn it into just a plain shitty day. I can think of a couple guys who should keep that one in mind.

But, the cheese. The wonderful, flavorful, savorful cheese! How does the world not revolve around your mere presense during PMS? Since I was out of block Colby-Jack cheese and still don't have a car to run to the store with, I made my famous Pimento Cheese Spread (the recipe is on my recipe blog, but I've been bad and a little too busy to update that page recently, please forgive me!) and ate it on crackers along with tuna salad for lunch. I don't know how to describe the taste, except for pure, unadulterated, whimsy.

Shut up, yes, I just said whimsy.

You might, too, if you were under as much stress as I am right now. Not to mention stress with PMS.
