The first blizzard of the season has just released its unruly wrath over west central Iowa. First, ice pellets stung the frost covered brown ground. Now, white flakes are free falling to form a fresh blanket.
Dawn opened a new day
Excitement filled the morning sky
Grey clouds packed behind rolling hills
Hide snow fights yet to come
And, memories with friends
Packed into snow forts
Drinking hot chocolate to warm us up
Now, I sit at the window waiting
For the perfect moment
When the heavens will open
Releasing my white bliss
I shouldn't be anxious
We get a lot of snow in the winter
It will come eventually
But, I sit and wait, wait, wait
There’s no better feeling than snow on the horizon

Take the snow, please! Take it!!!! Both of you can split it. We only have like 6 on the ground now, but could get up to 9 more yet tonight...most likely we'll get 6 more.
Stupid mother nature.
