Day One...And it's the Ides of March
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Beware the Ides of March," says the Soothsayer. This has never been so true.
Today is the first official day without a job. I signed the papers, and that's all she wrote. Kaboom. I'm done. Wow. I AM SO FREAKING BORED! Not to mention that we got about 5 inches of new snow, and Sioux City got 18! Holy shit buckets!
I've never really been bored in my life. There has always been something going on, but with my friends having jobs to go to, life gets boring. So, I'm going to be doing a resume for myself and one for Leah, plus odds and ends for other friends and family members. If you need anything done, let me know, and I'll be willing to lend my services (maybe--as long as it's appropriate).
Write this day down in history books...I went to Wal-Mart and spent less than $5, and was in there for about 1 1/2 hours! This has to be a new record for me... I never leave without $20 going down the drain! Leah and I went over to LeMars for dinner, because well, I had to eat! I haven't been eating much since Friday...so, as usual, the Chinese tasted great! But what was even better was when Leah and I decided to mosey on down the liquor aisle at Wal-Mart when some stupid college kid asks us where the party was! Hello---do we look that young?? (Ok--yes, we do, I'll admit it. I'm going to be carded forever. Plus we were both wearing our glasses.) Well, I'll tell you where the party is... it's at my new place when I get my new job! You're all invited!
As you can probably tell, I'm still in great spirits! Most people can't believe it, but I like to live by the philosophy from the famous poet, Robert Frost, "I can sum up everything I have learned about life in three words: It goes on." I am, at least, still alive and kicking; nothing gets better than that.
Oh, and for those of you keeping up to date; sympathetic block has been moved to Wednesday morning at the same hospital. Thank goodness they changed the time, too. It's at 9 instead of 7:30 now.
And even better news to report--I got confirmation from Casey that I have meet and greet passes for Dierks' show on the 4th in Sioux City! This time, I can't miss the m&g, because I'll have my brother and his gf with me. :)
