He Said I Wouldn’t See a Bear; He Was Wrong

For our honeymoon we went to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.

Within the first five minutes in Yellowstone I saw my first grizzly bear. It was only a cub, but I'm sure mama bear was hiding in the trees, because the cub was feasting on grass on the top of a hill. The second day we saw another grizzly cub, sleeping in trees next to a creek. The third day we saw a grown grizzly running in a meadow. This was spectacular, because the bear was having fun rolling over the small hill in the middle of the grassy plain. The last day in Yellowstone we were driving down a steep grade when a ranger flagged the cars to slow down. Right next to the road was a rather large black bear eating to its heart content and running around.

I plan to put up pictures of our encounters with wildlife. Also, I had the distinct honor of driving when a bison walked straight towards our car. Needless to say, we have many interesting stories to tell.

However, one of the novelties I brought back from Wyoming was a nasty virus. I'll post a complete summary in the next few days, depending on how I feel or as time permits.
