The One Where My Brother Tried to Sell Me in Mexico

The warm and sunny weather in Arizona was a trick, because I had to come back to the cloudy and cold Iowa. I do have to say it was quite odd to come out of mass at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and not see snow or freezing temperatures. Plus, on Christmas day while my family and I were playing shuffleboard, I was wearing a cami. A CAMI people! That only happens here in the Midwest from June-August, so needless to say, I was ecstatic!

The day after Christmas, we decided to go down to Mexico. We've been there quite a few times, so it was no big deal to us to actually go, but my brother, Aron, wanted some pictures for his new house, and my brother, Evan, wanted to barter. I, on the other hand, was like my parents and Grandma and just going along for the ride. Well, I didn't expect what I got when I was there. We were looking around a shop after Aron buys a wall hanging and the next thing I hear is (and, I paraphrase, because I don't remember it exactly... I was horrified and walked away):

Aron: I'll sell you my sister for five dollars.
Mexican Shop Keeper: Oh, she's pretty, I'd give twenty dollars for her.
Aron: Ok, but you have to keep her.
MSK: Oh, you're funny.

I know that Aron was bullshitting with the Mexican Shop Keeper, but I REFUSED to be around him for the rest of the time we were in Mexico. Even after we left and went on a tour of Kartchner Caverns, I was still a bit mad at him. He and Dad tell the story much better, probably because they thought it was hilarious. Go figure.

Once I got back to the Midwest, I stayed at Jeff's in Omaha to celebrate the new year. :) But, this year I didn't get snowed in, so we had to come back to Iowa and celebrate Christmas on the first. On the upside, I now have season 2 and 3 of ALIAS to watch for the new year!

Another thing I'm going to do for the new year is exercise. I wasn't planning on making that my resolution, in fact I wasn't going to have a resolution this year, but my friend Beth sent me a link from Self magazine that gives tips to lose weight. It looked awesome, so I joined! If anyone out there wants to join with me (and join the webpage I created for the weight loss journals) just let me know.

HA! HA! I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! Brothers! Sometime's they are too funny! That actually sounded like something my brother would try to do to me. However, no one is crazy enough to want to buy me...They have enough common sense than that! LOL!

I did about 100 push-ups last night, and I realized about half way through the day today that my arms, nor my chest hurt...I wonder what that means? Nor does my stomach, and I did about 200 crunchies...I can tell by my stomach that something is happening down there...Hopefully I'll get an ab, or two! LOL!
