So, Tomorrow's June, Huh?

May seemed to fly by--yet, the first of the month seems like years ago. At the beginning of the May I was weighing whether or not I would still be in school in South Dakota. I'm still here. I'm still happy with how everything turned out. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that I think God has a plan for each of us, even if he's a little wicked with how it plans out sometimes. I guess that's what makes me appreciate it all a little bit more.

Not much to report on weekend, other than it wasn't long enough. I start training for my call center job with the university tomorrow, and classes start on the 6th. I need to have orders in for the company I self employ myself with* on Sunday/Monday, and I still need to get my books for classes next week.

The town I where I live in South Dakota is under a flash flood warning because we've gotten over 2 inches of rain in under 2 hours, and I guess there's street flooding. I wouldn't know because I can't open up my door to the outside patio area because some asshat decided to thrown tuna fish out of his (or her, but I'm pretty sure it's a his) apartment over the weekend. The tuna ended up right in front of our place. So, while expecting to open up the door and be greeted with the fresh smell of rain this afternoon, we (my roommates and I) were greeted with the gag inducing smell of the ever-so-fantastic rotting tuna fish. I just got back from complaining to the RD. I can handle the beer bottles, I can handle the milk and even the bread, but I am NOT going to tolerate stinky tuna fish. I mean if I wanted to smell that I would just...well you get the picture.

Well, if you heard recently that I've got an ass once again, it's true. I got some jeans from Leah's sister and they fit so well that I no longer have a case of the droopy-butt syndrome. It's nice to see the sizes getting smaller that I'm getting rid of my 'big' jeans. I'm afraid that if I hang on to them I'm just going to grow into them like I did when I hit rock bottom last year. Man, I am not going to work my ass off and then realize that I've grown into my old jeans again (pun intended). I figure, I can't grow into them if I don't have them.

Weekend was fantastic, but too short. I spent Friday night, Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning with someone special. My highlight of the weekend was going hiking on Sunday. We drove over to Iowa and hiked at Stone State Park. We even got lost, had to climb a Gargantuan hill, but I made it out alive. If I had remembered to take my water bottle from the car, I wouldn't have had to worry, but 1/2 through the hike I got really thirsty. Oh well...a nice supper at Applebee's with their lemonade quenched my thirst.

Yesterday, I helped Leah assemble her grill, then we cooked out on it! Never fear--the super grill girls are here. Seriously! We're getting really good at this not needing a man to do stuff for us crap. I sometimes wonder if we're a little bit too independent...

*If you don't know...you'll have to email me. It's not that big of a deal. Really.
