A Big Thank You to Ms. Thang...

She reminded me how much I miss writing today, so here's a sampling from undergrad that I actually still like...

Love's Trumpet

Under star-lit skies
flow midnight whipsers
promises
of a lifetime
filled with joy and bliss.
Blaring
trumpets sound
temptation.
Discovery
journeying
roads of passion.
Sweet taste
gentle touch.
The Vine
of disaster.
Essense
of body
mind
and soul
given up to love.
Future generations
lie in ruin.

Interpret however you would like. I'm just a poet. A poet and writer who would someday like to make her living by writing a book of some type, but this outlet will have to do for now.

Well...here's something that will make you laugh instead.

In undergrad a classmate who read the poem asked me if I purposefully made the form of the poem look like a penis.

I'm so not kidding. She really asked that.

And, the answer is no. It must have been a subconscious decision.

Sex isn't always on my mind...
