Hey, Ho, Anybody Home?
Not for long! I have a family reunion this coming weekend. For those of you that don't know, I have a HUGE family. My mom's side is big, anyway. I have 34 first cousins on that side (not kidding) and countless second cousins. I'm one of the younger ones, so there are a lot of my cousins who are married, adding even more people to the mixture! Now, if that weren't big enough, it's not just my aunts, uncles, and cousins getting together, but, my mom's aunt's and uncle's with their families come, too! Sometimes there are close to 300 people at these things.
We used to always camp, but now we're going for hotels to have the reunions at, because everyone is getting older and it's getting more expensive to camp. So, we're staying at a hotel.
It was because of this annual tradition (since 1975) that my family was featured in a magazine...I think it was Better Homes and Gardens back in 1989. Yeah, so I was like 9-years-old at the time, but hey, my picture was in a magazine!
I went to the bookstore today. 4 books for $36...one book alone was $22, the others were on sale. Ironically, I'm infatuated with the $5 Bathroom Book I, not the $22 a girl becomes a comma like that.
Why is it that my mom let's my youngest brother get away with murder, yet I am still such to a standard. I hate that! I hate it even more when she doesn't make him do something that I HAD to do when I was his age. She seems to forget that she made me do it when I didn't want to.
Yeah, I think she's senile. Could I be so lucky?!
