The Friends Tribute

The turning in of the keys... classic drama! Oh, the symbolism! I loved, loved, loved it!

Yes, we all knew how it would end; happy. Yet, it was as entertaining as usual, which is why I loved this show. No matter what mood you were in, what was going on in the world, the ensemble cast would make you laugh at the simplist event.

And, that's another thing. It was an ensemble cast. A damn good one at that. As many of you know, I acted in college. I did a duet once that just fell apart, because we couldn't act together. But, I did a three person ensemble that flourished. We loved it, and worked so well together that you would have really thought we were sisters...and that's how the cast of Friends was. They really made me beleive they were the best of Friends, and had known each other for a long time, even from the beginning. It's rare to find great ensemble casts, but Friends did it. But, then again, each friend had a unique personality that completed the circle.

Later, I'll have a characterization for each, but I want to watch ER. BACK Kudos to Noah Wyle on ER, such a great performance. 10:10 p.m.

Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey. They almost feel like family, and I've learned from them.

Monica I am most like her. It's her way, or the highway, she likes to cook, she is girly and a tom boy at the same time, she's down to earth, she's dramatic, she's smart, she's funny and likes to laugh. She's been fired, and bounced back from it, too. And most of all, she's independant. She has taught me what it means to want something and then go for it.

Rachel
I always wanted to be Rachel, just for her clothes and style. I loved her character because she used to be so clingy, which reminded me of myself until I had to grow up and become all Miss Independence. Plus, she never settles, she always goes in and gets what she wants. Oh, and she taught me not to get drunk and not talk about ex's.

Phoebe What can I say about Phoebe? Other than, she can say anything and not feel sorry for it. And, so artistic! Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat what are they... OOPS, sorry, didn't mean to break out in song. Plus, she cares. What else do you really want in a friend, but love? She taught me to be myself.

Ross Ok... how did you not know the airport Rachel was going to be at? I mean, you've only lusted after this woman for 20 years, and you don't.... okok. Being a nerd myself, I saw how withdrawn and boring he could sometimes be...then do a polar opposite and become spontaneous. He taught me it's cool to show my inner nerd.

Chandler This is the type of man I'll probably fall in love with. Loving and funny all rolled into one...and why wouldn't I? I'm the Monica type. I like a guy who will let me be one of the boys one minute, and be romantic the next. Chandler also quit his job and changed careers...sound familiar once again?! He taught me that change can be good.

Joey What a big heart. You're the friend I would want by my side at all times for moral support. You may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but hey, that's just how the cookie crumbles! Oh wait, it can't crumble, it's in Joey's mouth. Joey cares...he cares more about his friends than he does about himself. And he truly loves his friends, which is more than I can say for some of my real life friends. Joey taught me to love my friends, even when they're going to move the the 'burbs or to Paris.

And I'm going to miss them...they've been on television since my freshman year of high school. And for some reason that was comforting because I knew that whatever problem was going to come my way when I got older had already been tackled by Friends. And it was usually funny, even the serious episodes, which is SO true for my life, for those who actually know me.

I'll always have Friends close to me though. Not just in my thoughts, but I already have the 1st season on DVD. I guess you know what you can get me for my birthday in a couple weeks! lol
