Suicide is Painless
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, don't anyone get their panties in a bunch--I'm not thinking of killing myself, I just have the M*A*S*H* theme song in my head. I finally watched the MASH movie, and found out that the theme song has lyrics!! I was rather surprised at the lyrics, but it makes sense for the movie/show. I do have to admit that I like the television show way more than what I like the movie--something about Alan Alda as Hawkeye, just makes more sense. Yes, I know I' a M*A*S*H* whore... my brothers and I even get our parents the season DVD's so that we can watch them!
For those of you wondering about me-- if there's anyone-- here's the wrap up of why I've been gone.
1.) House door lock went wacky and thank God it's been fixed--no more waiting outside in below zero temperatures for 20 minutes at a time for people to come and open up my door.
2.) When the door went wacky, I cut my thumb when I broke the key off in the handle-- so I had blood gushing everywhere, but thank goodness, didn't need stitches!
3.) Dr. appt. Not good--have to go and see a podiatrist now. Can't do anything more for me until then. Still in a lot of pain and no more exercise for me until I know what's going down with the foot/ankle/arch. Thank goodness the Achilles tendon is still intact--one less possible surgery to worry about.
4.) Called down to Dana about getting a reference for grad. school. Ended up talking on the phone for a while-- they still remember me down there!
5.) Spent the Friday night and Saturday in Omaha after dr. appt. Leah and I stayed in a hotel on Dodge street and I played chauffeur, and even ended up going to the bad side of town to pick up Jeff and take him home. Like I told Leah-- we're two chicks in a newer car-- they can smell us from a mile away. And--yeah, 33rd street is not my ideal location at 3 a.m. While down there I went to a symphony at UNO, drank and ate a lot of buffalo wings!! Drank some too-- still not too sure about the new apple beer from Shmirnoff.
6.) Went to the 'rents Saturday night to settle a bill that I owed my mom from shopping in Omaha (wow--I got a shitload of dress clothes and two new leather coats for under $150!)
7.) Went to brother #2's omelet breakfast this morning.
8.) Drove back home in a Winter Storm Warning
9.) Waiting for them to call off school tomorrow since we already had about 18 inches of snow on the ground and are getting about 5-8 inches more b/n tonight and tmw afternoon.
10.) Oh yeah-- I finally got to talk to Brandi today!
