Sometimes You Just have To Listen
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quick post, still have 4 semester exams to write before morning. Anyway, I was doing good, my mom had gone a whole 2 days without calling to check on me, until she caught me in the shower a few minutes ago. See, she was just calling me as a favor to brother #1. But then, she had to give me the low down on brother #2's life, which I had already read on his website. So, me being polite, I asked what was going on down south in her neck of the woods and I got a 10 minute tirade on how brother #2's school is thinking of getting rid of all smoking areas. My parents don't smoke right now, but they used to, and they find it offensive to ban smoking at school functions, like football, basketball and baseball games (by which I mean they went to their car, outside of the school, or off into a desolate area to smoke, so they could still see the game.)
I really don't care about the issue, because I don't smoke--I can't. My allergies are too severe. Then again, I did smoke for like a week when I was 14, because I thought it was cool, but it about killed me. Oh, and can't forget about that New Year's Eve I was drinking... BUT I was drinking, so I suppose that's o.k.
Anyway, I really don't care. I don't like cigarette smoke, as it makes it hard for me to breathe at times, but I don't want to lose the monies that smokers bring to school functions, either. In a rural area, though, there are a ton of smokers, so you have to be careful what decision you make.
